Debbie Tipton: Special Education Teacher

Debbie Tipton is the Special Education teacher at TMCS. Debbie grew up in Western New York near Niagara Falls where she obtained an associate’s degree in math & science from Niagara County Community College and a bachelor’s degree in physical education and sportsmedicine from SUNY Brockport. Debbie then completed graduate studies in exercise physiology at Ball State University in Indiana where she met her husband, Joel and moved to Florida. While there, Debbie did cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and sportsmedicine for 10 years in addition to implementing the pulmonary rehabilitation program for the Cleveland Clinic of Florida. During those years, she put in many volunteer hours with the Special Olympics, Games for the Physically Challenged, and Horses for the Handicapped. After starting a family, she relocated to the mountains of Hendersonville, North Carolina to raise two beautiful daughters. Debbie worked at Mission Hospital for a year before deciding to follow her passion to help children with special learning needs.
