Jennifer Hardin: First Grade Teacher

My name is Jennifer Hardin. As a native of Henderson County, I graduated from East Henderson High School and went on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. After college, I married my high school sweetheart and we moved to Burke County where I taught for three years, in first and third grades, before we became parents and moved back home.

As the original Fifth Grade teacher at TMCS, I fell in love with the school and the family atmosphere we created. I enjoyed the smallness of the school and that every staff member knew each child by name. In addition, the Core Knowledge curriculum was unlike anything I had seen before, and I truly had a great time teaching it. The collaboration and cooperative learning opportunities the curriculum provides are as important to the learning process as the content itself.

My philosophy of education is simple. I believe that EVERYONE can learn. This belief drives my dedication to providing a loving, safe and positive learning environment that enables each of my students to achieve success.
